How to use the log

  1. Add a row after every service, repair, inspection, tire change or fluid replacement.
  2. Record both the date and odometer reading so you can spot time- and distance-based intervals.
  3. Write the next due date or mileage while the invoice and workshop advice are still at hand.

What belongs in a maintenance record?

Include routine work such as oil and filter changes, brakes, tires, batteries and inspections, plus unexpected repairs. Keep the invoice or receipt reference with each entry. Your vehicle manufacturer’s manual remains the authoritative source for service intervals.

Paper, spreadsheet or maintenance app?

A printed log is simple and durable. A spreadsheet makes totals easier. A vehicle maintenance tracker app can add reminders and keep photos of receipts with each record. Bortio is being built for that job on iPhone and Android; until it is ready, this free log works without signup.
